Hedi Slimane is a French fashion designer, photographer, and creative director. Born in Paris on July 5, 1968, Slimane has held roles at Dior Homme, Saint Laurent, and Celine. Known for his slim silhouettes, rock-and-roll influences, and monochromatic palette, Slimane has played a pivotal role in shaping contemporary fashion.

Slimane gained prominence at Dior Homme in 2000, where he introduced a lean, tailored silhouette that contrasted with the baggier styles of the era. In 2012, Slimane took the helm at Yves Saint Laurent, rebranding it to “Saint Laurent” and injecting the house with edgy, youthful designs that introduced grunge and glam rock elements to the collections.

In 2018, Slimane became the creative director of Celine, where he introduced a gender-fluid, rock-and-roll-inspired aesthetic that broadened the brand’s appeal. Slimane is also an accomplished photographer, with his work often focusing on youth culture and countercultural movements. His ability to integrate music, art, and fashion into a unified vision has established him as one of the most distinguished designers of his generation.
